Locast Civic Media has two main goals. First: it aims at aggregating and actively engaging a community of citizens that want to create, collect and share democratically a bottom-up vision of the city, the society and the events happening in. Second: it proposes a common space where one can freely debate topics emerging from the reports of citizen journalists.
We strongly believe in the potential that mobile and web instruments can offer in supporting civic participation to the media representation process. In order to participate, you don’t need any particular technical skill, you don’t need expensive devices nor specific journalistic preparation. It’s all about participation.
